Applications

1. Reducing agent: Diphenylsilanediol easily loses its hydroxyl group during reactions, generating free radicals, and can therefore be used as a reducing agent. It can reduce secondary alcohols, halogenated hydrocarbons, ketones, and other organic compounds.

2. Catalyst: Diphenylsilanediol can catalyze the carbonylation reactions of alcohols, ketones, alkenes, aldehydes, and other organic compounds, promoting their conversion into esters or acids. Additionally, it can catalyze epoxidation reactions and silicon insertion reactions.

3. Functional material: Diphenylsilanediol can be used to prepare silicon-carbon composites with excellent wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. Furthermore, it can serve as a functional material for polymer plasticizers.

4. Structure control agent: In rubber processing, diphenylsilanediol acts as a structure control agent, reducing the structuralization phenomenon of silicone rubber and improving its processability.

5. Surface modifier: Diphenylsilanediol can be used for surface modification of precipitated silica, enhancing the selectivity of surface active hydroxyl groups and improving the crystallization ability of the material.
