Applications

Phenyl functional silane can improve thermal stability of silanes, be as intermediates of silanes and siloxanes, to treat hydrophobic surface and as hydrophobic additive to other silane coupling agents.

Siwin-P31 is used to modify the suface of inorganic fillers such as wollastonite and aluminum trihydroxide. It makes the surface of these inorganic fillers more hydrophobic and thus increases their dispersability in mineral-filled polymers. Siwin-P31 is especially suited for polymers that are processed at elevated temperatures. Siwin-P31 reduces the viscosity of the polymer melt.In many sol-gel applications.

Siwin-P31 is partially hydrolyzed to form a pre-product that can be further crosslinked using temperature. This pre-hydrolysis is often made in conjunction with alkyl silanes (Siwin-932) or other organofunctional silanes (e.g.Siwin-E560), silicic acid esters, or even an aqueous silica sol.
